Wieslaw
Walkuski
Wieslaw Walkuski, born in 1956, studied from 1976 to 1981 on The Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, painting under prof. Teresa Pagowska, and graphic design under prof. Maciej Urbaniec. During the 80s he worked with many Warsaw, book publishers, theatres, and film distributors Polfilm and Film Polski. Since 1987, as an independent artist, he’s been making art posters, illustrations and paintings. He’s published over 250 posters and is considered to be one of the greatest contemporary art poster artists in the world. Yet he’s first and foremost a painter, and what he likes to note is that he works exclusively with the classical painting technique.
He currently lives, and works in Warsaw.
